Renunciation of Malaysian Citizenship in High Commission of Malaysia in Singapore

Upon completion of Mandatory Singapore Citizenship Journey, you are a step nearer to get your Singapore Pink IC. The Mandatory Singapore Citizenship Journey implemented in earlier 2011 to all new citizens. The programme must be completed in two months from the date of receiving their in-principal approval letter. Once the said programme has been completed, you will be issued another letter from ICA requesting you to formally renounce your Malaysian Citizenship at Malaysian High Commission. A deadline will be stated in the letter. For my case, it is about 1.5 month from the date of the letter. Therefore, it is advisable for you to finish your unfinished business before you surrender all citizenship. For those who have any properties in Malaysia, please check with your lawyer on as to what you need to do. Collection of Renunciation Certificate at Malaysia High Comm

Once renunciation of your Malaysian citizenship has been approved, you will receive a letter (email) from Malaysia High Commission asking you to go down to collect your Form K and birth certificate within one month from the date of the e-mail. You have to bring down the following documentation: i)        Singapore Identity Card (photocopy front and back of identity card); ii)      Singapore Citizenship Certificate (photocopy front and back of certificate);  iii)     Singapore Passport (photocopy of page with photograph of passport holder); and iv)       Deed Poll / Baptism (if name has been changed), if applicable. 爸爸你好吗？在那里过得如何？还习惯吗？ 爸爸您离开已四个多月，一开始我每天都会问自己，那是一场梦吗？ 我天早上醒来，都会问同样的一句话，那会不会只是一场梦而已，一场很长很长的梦是吗？。。。。。。 爸爸，我感谢你成为我的原生爸爸，您是一位无私的爸爸，从来不要求聚光灯照在您的身上，您总是退到一个角落，默默的在远处的眺望我们，只要我们健康平安您就心满意足。 我真正在您身旁大约只有二十年，随后我就跨越长提在狮城开枝散叶。在我离开后的日子，一开始在农历新年回家看您，一起享天伦。过后，孩子们上小学后，就只有在年末暑假时才回家探望您，每次回去都尽量带您穿街走巷找美食。看您吃着时，您总会时不时抬起头，竖起大拇指说“好吃！”其实不管什么食物您都说好吃。 您总是尽量学习一些简单的英语，以便可以和我的孩子们沟通，看您跟着孩子们的互动，即便是简单的一句 Good, beautiful 如今已成为了我孩子们对您的记忆。 2019年的12，回乡探望您的时候, 您还是如以往般的健康。接着就是因为疫情的关闭，我们逼不得已，也不没有办法回去探望您。 两年后，疫情平稳下来，边境也开放了，当我再次回去看您，真是让我大吃一惊，您的身体瘦了一大圈，健康已不如以往。您像是患上帕金森的老人，拖着蹒跚的脚步，看着您从椅子站起来，或坐下来都花了很多的时间，我很难过。 以往我一回到家，您总是像孩子般的第一个冲出了为我开门。但这一回，您就只半躺在沙发上看我。我问您怎么啦，您说老了，腿没力了，你也说因为知道我要回来，您为了把家里整理干净，蹲着抹地，所以腿酸。 我真的以为你只是腿出了问题，还带您去看中医。但是看中医后的两个星期，6月24日，您因为跌倒与吐血，就被送往医院，医生诊断出是胃溃疡造成吐血，晕眩，还给你您输了血，医生也找出了出血的地方，还把伤口夹起来，当时医生说已没有出血的问题了。 6月27日凌晨， 您又再次吐血，医生说如果再次吐血就要把您推进手术室， 我们也驱车赶回怡宝看你，那天输血后，上午您的血细胞计数稳定， 下午就掉了些。我和您约定好，等您好起来后我们要一起去吃海外天的叉烧，烧肉。您竖起大拇指，用您一贯的口头禅说: Good! 6月28日血细胞计数又继续下降，但扫描报告显示已经没有出血了，血压也稳定了，我们才稍稍松了一口气。 6月29日血细胞计数开始回升，我们因着一切往好的方向走，心里感到欣慰。同时那天不知道...
