There are still many good people around!!!!

I had registered myself to join the Synchronised Breastfeeding session at Suntec on 23rd Aug 08. It so happened that my ex colleague invited me to her house for a house warming gathering on the same day too. My husband was busy at work, as a result of which, I had to take a taxi out with my baby and my maid. It was raining heavily and I had to call for a cab and when the Citycab driver arrived at my block, he noted that I was carrying a baby, so he immediately came down to help us to place the baby pram in the car booth.

When we reached my ex colleague’s place (Simei), the rain was still very heavy and we did not have an umbrella with us. To make things worse, there was no shelter for the driver to drop us. So the driver got down from the taxi and he went to his car booth to get the umbrella to shelter us.

Since I was carrying my baby, I asked my maid to pay the driver. My maid only looked at the big meter, without reading the small meter, which recorded the call charge, ERP & other charges. Therefore she only took out a ten dollar note to pay the driver.

When she handed the money over to the driver, he said “ten dollars is ok.” Then I realized that I had short paid him.

After the lunch session, it was still raining cats and dogs, and I was left with no alternative but to call a cab again to rush to Suntec Convention Hall for the Breastfeeding seminar. This time, the cab was there waiting for us and as I was carrying my baby without an umbrella and my maid pushing the pram, an onlooker who saw us quickly ran over and sheltered us into the cab.

In conclusion, there are still many good people around!!
