Chinese Garden - Mooncake or Lantern Festival

15th day of the eighth lunar moon is known as Moon Cake Festival, Lantern Festival or Mid-Autumn Festival in Singapore. On the Mid Autumn day, Chinese families gather to admire the moon believed to be the most beautiful and the roundest on this night. It symbolizes the union of the family and Chinese families celebrate this event by eating moon cakes (月饼) and admiring the moon. Other food items associated with Mid Autumn are pomelo and Chinese Tea. After dinner, Children carry lanterns and strolling in parks or gardens. That is why people alway say "月到中秋分外明,每逢佳节倍思亲!"

On the same day Korea will celebrating their Chu'sok or Korean Thanksgiving Day and our company granted us a half day off on 15th Sep! So husband also took a half day leave take me to The Central "Marutama Ra-Men" for lunch. After our lunch, we go to GV Tampines for movie "Babylon A.D.". After our 'paktoh' time, we go back home to bring our baby to Chinese Garden.

This is first year I am visiting Chinese Garden for the Lantern Festival, this year there are having "F8 – Hello Kitty Go Races" I think because they wants to go in line with the first-ever night race, the 2008 FORMULA 1

Anyway, Chinese Garden was under criticism for Hello Kitty lanterns, report here.
