Macau - City of Sin - Day 1 (4th Sep 2008)

My hubby company celebrating their 27th Anniversary in Macau, therefore, my baby and I just follow my hubby to Macau for a short holiday.

It is a free and easy trip; the only thing is we all have to gather on 6th September in The Pena Restaurant (Casa Real Hotel) for Buffet dinner.

Departure on 4th Sep 2008 (This is also my son 1st birthday)
Parents in law sending us to Budget Terminal.

On the plane, baby Hao Dong is busy ‘browsing’ the magazine.

He is also busy mimicking the airplane sound, ‘poooo…pooooo…poooo” all the way…… poor mummy shower with saliva.

Pooooooooo... until he is so tired and falling asleep.
3.5 hours later, we finally reached Macau Airport.
Taking a cab to Casa Real Hotel 皇家金堡酒店娱乐场

Check in the Hotel, pack some of the necessity items for my baby, hunting for our lunch. We planned to go to the “New YaoHan” to buy a packet of diaper for my baby. We only bring a few pieces of baby diaper with us because as per the hotel map provided, there is a “New YaoHan” just behind the hotel.

Scene outside the hotel

Daddy is reading map ...
Typical noodle shops. I heard Cantonese noodles in Macau are famous.
we ordered 肠子蛋面
and 加哩牛腩面

After our late lunch, we heading to “New YaoHan” and to our shock are, “New YaoHan” has been shifted.

When I ask the people around where is the “New Yaohan” shifted to, they said, “新马路。。。”,“近葡京啊。。。”, actually all these information provided are not useful all at.

How on earth would I know where is “新马路 or 葡京”, I rather they point to me the direction….

So we just walk and walk… the scene along the way to “New YaoHan”.

New Yaohan was formerly known as Yaohan and was established in 1992 by the Japanese firm of the same name as its first Macau branch. It became New Yaohan after an STDM buy-in in September 1997.

I think “New Yaohan” is the only departmental store in Macau.

The Ruins of St. Paul's refer to the façade of what was originally the Cathedral of St. Paul, a 17th century Portuguese cathedral in Macau dedicated to Saint Paul the Apostle.
It standing like a cardboard pop-up on a hilltop.

Along the street, there are many bakery shops selling cookies, peanut candy, egg rolls, barbequed meat and other. Two most famous bakery chains are Choi Heong Yuen and Koi Kei.
Casino Lisboa 葡京 - one of the Macau oldest casino resort.

Grand Lisboa (新葡京)

Grand Lisboa (新葡京), this HK$3 billion 40 storey building is situated right across the road from the orignal Casino Lisboa. The building is shaped like a bright yellow lotus leaf set upon an eight-story sphere-shaped podium.
Back to Hotel for a shower because daddy is meeting his army friend for dinner, our original plan is all go down to meet daddy friend, but Dong Dong keep crying so mummy have to stay in the hotel room with baby :(
