Macau - City of Sin - Day 3 (6th Sep 2008)

See my son eyes looking very weird right? The folds in his lids go all weird and it makes his eyes look tiny and the folds look all disfigured. This is because yesterday night he was too naughty and refused to eat his dinner so daddy smacked twice on his palm once on his foot. Baby cried out so badly until he is too tired and goes to sleep. The sodium in the tears caused his eyes to swell up. Poor baby~~I think he is trying to stop me taking his ugly picture...

Day 3, our plan is A-Ma Temple, Senado Square & Macau Tower then back to hotel for my husband company's buffet dinner.

A-Ma Temple 妈祖阁

A-Ma Temple situated on the southwest tip of the Macau Peninsula, is one of the oldest and most famous temples in Macau. Built in 1488, the temple is dedicated to the goddess of seafarers and fishermen.

Long time ago the Portuguese landed on a sea promontory near a temple. They asked the local inhabitants the name of the land, but the locals misunderstood, thinking that the Portuguese were asking for the name of the temple. So they answered 'Ma Ge', which was the name of the temple. Later, the Portuguese translated the named into 'Macau' and used it to refer to the land. In actuality, this temple is one of the three famous Buddha halls in Macau- the A-Ma Temple.

After A-Ma Temple, we are heading to Senado Square, it also known as Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro square.

The Senado square is paved with a wave-patterned mosaic of coloured stones, created by Portuguese experts. From the main road to the church of St. Dominic, the pavement extends to the ruins of St. Paul's, making the heart of the city a pedestrian paradise.

The Church of St. Dominic is one of the most beautiful churches in Macau. This yellow and green Church right in the middle of Leal Senado plaza of Macau.

Our next destination after after Senado Square – Macau Tower Convention & Entertainment Center

Bungy jump 绑紧跳, but they name it 笨猪跳 really make me laugh.... why "笨猪"??? Anyway, Macau Tower is the World's Highest Commercial Bungy Jump.
We original was planned to have our lunch at the 360 Café, Macau Tower’s revolving restaurant. But too bad, it was already fully booked on that day, so we only goes up to their Observation lounge at lvl 58 & lvl 61 Outdoor Observation Deck & Skywalk X. The ticket is for visiting these two lvl is MOP85.

Level 58 - Glass floor !!!

Sections of the lounge are fitted with glass floor letting you see the ground beneath your feet - 223m away! Step on them if you're brave enough and feel like you're walking on air.
As the Tower's main viewing deck, the Observation Lounge is a spacious area to relax in. Gaze out over Taipa and Coloane.

Can you see the black colour monument? That is The Gate of Understanding . This monument is of so much importance because of the fact that it celebrates the cross -border Sino-Portuguese friendship. It was completed in 1993.

Level 61, Admire the highest possible view of Macau at the Outdoor Observation Deck. Challenge yourself with Skywalk X and stroll along the outer rim of the Tower at 233m above ground.

The Tower is 338m high at its highest point.

My son is enjoying the bear bear bungy jump!
